Wildfire Videos

No Embers solution can be used in two ways:

1) No Embers can be applied in advance of a fire and it will protect the underlying wood from ignition. It also prevents against ember formation, a major cause of wildfire propagation.

2) No Embers can be used to directly attack and extinguish a fire. It is extremely effective in both situations.

Video 1a: Wildfire approaching a house treated with No Embers

A plywood structure was coated with one coat of No Embers.  Very dry brush is placed between two sheets of aluminum and around the structure.  Fans were positioned to blow hot air/embers toward the structure, simulating wind-blown embers and intense heat front.  The plywood structure was completely intact after exposure to the fire.  Though the outside was charred, the inside was COMPLETELY unharmed.  This would be highly useful to protect property at the urban/wildland interface.

Video 1b: Wildfire approaching an untreated house

This video is a companion to the video above. In this video the test house is not treated with No Embers prior to being exposed to an oncoming fire. First, it is clear that compared to the video above, the house is readily ignited. Second, No Embers is used to directly extinguish the fire which is easily and quickly accomplised. No Embers can be used both in advance of a fire for prevention and for direct fire suppression

Video 3: 1A Wood Crib Fire

Fire extinguisher performance is commonly assessed by UL (Underwriters Laboratory) test 711 “Rating and Fire Testing of Fire Extinguishers.” This video shows our testing of PNS Syrup on a 3A wood crib which conforms to the UL guidelines for this test.

Video 4: Plywood coated with No Embers showing protective char

This video shows a wood sample coated with PNS Syrup and then exposed to intense heat from a blow torch. Our Syrup forms a char and effectively protects the wood for a prolonged time

Video 5: Dowel Test Burn

This video features a comparison burn of untreated, commercially available plywood and plywood coated with No Embers on one side.  One coat of No Embers was applied with a paint brush.

After 8 minutes the uncoated plywood was burned through at just a few minutes whereas the No Embers provided significant protection on the treated plywood sample.
